Two permissions, and why

macOS asks before an app can control windows or read the screen. Better Window Switcher uses the least it can, and everything stays on your Mac.

Accessibility

Lets the app focus the window you pick and listen for your shortcut. This is the same permission other window tools use. It cannot read your screen.

Screen Recording

Lets the app show a live preview of each window in the 3D view. The previews are drawn on your Mac and never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere.

Set up in three steps

    Download and open

    Open the disk image and drag the app into your Applications folder.

  2. 2

    Grant two permissions

    On first launch, macOS asks for Accessibility and Screen Recording. Turn both on in System Settings, then relaunch.

  3. 3

    Press your shortcut

    Hit the shortcut (Option-Tab by default) and your windows appear in 3D. Pick one and you are there.
